Frustration

The most frustrating thing for me is that even though I have my resume planted with approximatley 12 recruitment agencies, I still see jobs on a daily basis on Careerbuilder that are posted by those agencies.  These are jobs that I know I should be interviewing for.  I still however apply (sometimes several times for same job) and then get no response although the same jobs are still posted for weeks. I personally think some of the listings are hooks just for the purpose of recruiting more "inventory" although I have no idea why, since the recruiting companies obviously don't use the "inventory" they have!!

I hear what your saying. I asked one of the agencies about this same subject, this is what I was told. They have a criteria to maintain a certain amount of people for a specific job classification. If they are low in that area for candidates they recruit. Also I asked about things I was eligible for and was told that the market isn't paying what I was use to making that's why no phone calls for those positions, So I had to lower starting pay that I originally told them I needed to start with. That is when the door opened up a little and I was eligible for some those posted jobs.

I understand your frustration and see the same thing going on. Something else I have noticed is an employer will call in the afternoon and leave a message for you to contact them and then when you call them the very next day, the job has been filled. This seems bizarre to me. Usually the interviewing process is completed before anyone is hired. Have things changed?
