MANHATTAN, Kan. – Brandon Banks received some exciting news on Monday. The Kansas State wide receiver/kick returner won the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week award.
It’s become a familiar pattern for Banks. It’s the third time he’s won the honor this season.
Banks recorded his Big 12-record fourth kickoff return for a touchdown at No. 22 Oklahoma. His 98-yard return in the fourth quarter pulled the Wildcats to within 35-30 in the game. K-State eventually lost at Oklahoma, 42-30.
Banks’ four kick returns for scores this season are one shy of the NCAA single-season record of five. His five career TD’s are one shy of the NCAA career record of six.
The K-State star had 351 all-purpose yards last Saturday. That tied a school record and tied for fifth in Big 12 history. The yard total was also the most in the conference and nation this season.
