KANSAS CITY, Mo. – NBC Action Sports Director Jack Harry says while he “thinks the world of” George Brett, there were “too many beeps” in an interview with the Royals Hall-of-Famer when he was asked about criticism of the Kansas City Royals and Manager Trey Hillman.
During a golf tournament Monday, Brett reacted to a question about the topic with profanities and his own criticisms of Jack and other members of the Kansas City sports media.

“I think the world of George,” Jack said Monday night on NBC Action News at 10. “I only wish he had used better judgment in his choice of language.”
Brett told Sports Producer Justin Unell that he thinks the problem in Kansas City is “We’ve lost so many years in a row that we don’t have any (Expletive) patience.”
The Royals Vice President of Baseball Operations says Jack - along with 810 WHB talk show host Kevin Kietzman, 610 Sports talk show host Roger Twibell and Metro Sports Anchor Dave Stewart – “don’t know what they’re talking about.”
Jack says it’s clear there is still a lot of passion and fire left in the 13-time All-Star, who retired in 1993 and was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999..
“It’s obvious (Brett) feels very strongly for Trey Hillman and I respect his opinion.”
But Jack says he was “taken aback” when he heard the context of Brett’s remarks.
“George Brett pretty much gets a free pass in this city,” Jack said. ‘He’s an icon who can do no wrong in the eyes of many.”
