Jack Harry says there are rumblings at Mount Oread that Lew Perkins is not very happy about his football team’s sudden collapse and meltdown. Five straight losses in the conference don’t sit very well when you've got the 15th highest paid coach in America.
Mark Mangino is completing the second year of a contract which pays him a whopping $2.3 million dollars a year.
Jack says Mangino's pay is based on one good season. He has only one winning season in eight years in the conference.
Jack says Mangino lost his football team two weeks ago when he benched Todd Reesing in the fourth quarter at Texas Tech. And Jack says, in recent days, Mangino reportedly has made some mean and cruel comments to some of his players and it’s become a big enough issue that some parents have requested a meeting with Lew Perkins.
