KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A former University of Missouri football player who starred at Kearney High School was arrested over the weekend in Columbia, Mo.
The Columbia Daily Tribune reports Tommy Saunders, 23, of Kearney was involved in an early Saturday morning fight at a nightclub that sent one person to the hospital.
The Tribune says Saunders was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault, and he bailed out of the Boone County Jail Saturday night. Columbia Police say the victim suffered a concussion, a chipped tooth and broken facial bones.
Saunders played wide receiver for the TIgers from 2004 to 2008. He has since served as a volunteer coach for the program.
