Jack says the media took Carl Henry’s bait, and let Henry manipulate their reporting on his sons’ status as college recruits. Henry thought a newspaper article portrayed his family in a bad light, and he used the media to draw attention to the treatment he thought was unfair.
Henry never had any intention of convincing his boys to back out of their commitment to KU, but he did nothing to quash media reports that Xavier and C.J. might end up at Kentucky. Jack says the whole story then got overblown .
