The Kansas City Royals announced Friday that utility player Willie Bloomquist and right-hander Roman Colon had successful surgeries.

Bloomquist underwent routine arthroscopic cleanup procedures on both knees. In 125 games last season, his first with Kansas City, he batted .265 with four home runs and 29 RBI.

Colon, who had an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee, went 2-3 with a 4.83 earned run average in 43 relief appearances this past season.

Both are expected to be ready for spring training.
