Wind Energy Needs Boost in Kansas

TOPEKA, Kan. -- Kansas could become a powerhouse for wind energy, but it needs more transmission lines to make it work.

Experts say current lines are near capacity, making it difficult to move wind energy generated in the western areas of Kansas to larger centers of population in the east.

Tuesday, Governor Mark Parkinson called on the federal government for help.
