Lee's Summit man is Killed in Wreck in Lafayette County

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo. - The Missouri Highway Patrol says a Lee's Summit, Mo. man was killed after a car driven by his brother crashed Sunday morning.

Jonathan T. Ferris, 26, of Lee's Summit, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on Missouri 131 about a mile north of Route FF. The wreck occurred about 10:50 a.m.

The driver, Christopher M. Ferris, 24, also of Lee's Summit, was driving south and crested a small hill with a left-hand curve. The 2002 Honda began rotating counter clockwise, traveled off the east side of the road, hit a ditch and then a fence. The car cartwheeled and came to rest on its wheels. Christopher Ferris was flown by by Life Flight to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Mo. where he remains Sunday afternoon in serious condition.

According to the highway patrol report, the investigation continues and with "charges pending."
