KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The lawyer for the teenage girl facing first degree murder charges, says she needs to be in a mental hospital.
Alyssa Bustamante’s attorney filed the motion Thursday, saying she should be getting treatment while she is facing charges.
Bustamante was indicted as an adult on Wednesday.
She faces charges in the October killing of nine-year-old Elizabeth Olten of Saint Martin.
Olten’s body was found in a wooded area near her home less than 48 hours after she was reported missing.
