Kan. Business Manager Admits to Stealing $74,000

WICHITA, Kan. -- A former Kansas business manager admitted to stealing more than $74,000 from her employer, a church.

Crawford County Officials say Lanora Michelle Driskill Spigarelli used the stolen money to pay her bills through the mail through January 2006 to September 2007. During this period of time she was working as a church business manager. Her employer at the time, Sacred Heart Catholic Church is located at 100 S. Cherokee in Frontenac, Kansas.

Wednesday, the 43-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud. In her plea, Spigarelli admitted she embezzled $74,027 from her employer.

She was sentenced to three years federal probation and ordered to pay more than $74,000 in restitution.
