KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A deadly wreck shut down eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 for several hours Friday morning.
The accident happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the downtown loop near US Highway 71.
Police say a 25-year-old man was driving when he lost control of his vehicle and it struck the median barrier.
The man, and a 4-year-old child in the car, survived.
Twenty-five-year-old Amy Hastings of Adrian, Mo., was killed in the crash. The child in the car was her son.
Police are still investigating what caused the crash.
