JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo. - Three people face charges after leading police on a chase following a shooting near Holden, Mo.

It happened Sunday at around 2:15 p.m. Deputies say the suspects had approached the home to commit a robbery, and one of the suspects allegedly fired shots at the homeowner from close range.  The homeowner got away unharmed.

Police say that's when two suspects entered the home together and shot Lisa Smith in the head.

As police responded to a shots fired call at the house at 263 S.W. 131 Hwy, they saw the suspect vehicle northbound on the highway and tried to get it to stop.

A Johnson County Sheriff Deputy and a Missouri Highway Patrol Trooper pursued the suspect vehicle until it stopped on County Road 430.

Police arrested 45-year-old Jimmy Vitale and 37-year-old Dee Anne Page, both of Fenton, Mo., and 25-year-old Jason Booth of Pleasant Hill, Mo.

All three face multiple felony charges, including first degree assault with serious physical injury, one count of first degree assault and two counts each of armed criminal action.  They are each being held in the Johnson County, Mo. jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond.

Smith suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to a Kansas City hospital.
