LENEXA, Kan. – Police are searching for the driver responsible for a deadly hit and run Monday on southbound K-7 Highway just north of 95th Street in Johnson County.
Around 1:10 p.m. a man in a white cab truck hit the rear of a 2005 Chrysler minivan on K-7 Highway and fled.
The minivan that was hit was driven by 84-year-old Rita F. Huscher of Olathe. Her minivan struck a bridge support before rolling and coming to rest in the median on K-7.
Huscher was ejected in the crash, and pronounced dead on the scene.
The incident blocked two lanes of southbound K-7 Highway at 95th Street for a couple hours.
The suspect being sought is described as a white man in his mid twenties with a mustache. He was wearing sunglasses and a red shirt. He is approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs approximately 160-165 pounds.
The vehicle being sought is described as a white cab truck with a roll-off container (commonly referred to as a dumpster). The roll-off container is rust colored.
