KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A witness said an accident involving a Kansas City ATA bus Wednesday afternoon sounded like a bomb going off.

Police say eight people were injured when a black car slammed into the rear of the bus around 12:15 p.m. near 39th and Warwick. None of the injuries was considered serious.

Police tell NBC Action News the bus was headed west on Warwick when the vehicle struck it from behind. The driver of the car and eight people on the bus were taken to area hospitals.
