KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Learning more about donating blood is just a finger-punch away.
The Red Cross Blood Services South Central Division is joining the technology age and offering text message alerts.
People who want to donate blood and want to find an American Red Cross blood drive near them, just need to text “redcross” to 42227. Donors will also receive information on blood inventory levels, received educational information about donating blood, make their next donation appointment.
The American Red Cross says they see this as an opportunity to reach out to the public as more and more people turn to their mobile phones for work social networking.
