HIGGINSVILLE, Mo. – Two people were seriously injured in an ATV accident in rural Lafayette County early Sunday.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says the ATV, driven by Jerry Bramlett, 35, of Corder, Mo., ran off the side of a road, overturned and came to rest on its top. Both Bramlett and a passenger, Katie Reagan, 29, also of Corder, were ejected from the vehicle.

Highway Patrol officers say the investigation is continuing, and charges are pending.

The accident happened about 1:30 a.m. Sunday on a county road in central Lafayette County. Both Bramlett and Reagan were flown by helicopter ambulance to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence.
