Two More Kansans Die from H1N1

TOPEKA, Kan. – The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) confirmed two more Kansas residents have died after being infected with pandemic H1N1 influenza virus.

A 72-year-old man from northeast Kansas was confirmed to have the virus on Oct. 29, and his death was reported to KDHE on Oct. 30.

A 53-year-old woman from the Wichita area was confirmed to have the virus on Oct. 27, and her death was reported to KDHE on Nov. 2.

Both people had underlying health conditions which placed them at greater risk of severe complications from influenza.

Fourteen people in Kansas have now reportedly died after being infected with H1N1.
