LIBERTY, Mo. - A man whose wife has been missing for more than six months will go on trial for allegedly stealing a handgun.

A Clay County judge today set a January 25th trial date for Shon Pernice.

Pernice is accused of stealing a .22-caliber handgun in late January from a neighbor in his Northland neighborhood.

He allegedly returned the gun the next day and apologized to his neighbor.

Pernice's wife, Renee, has not been seen since January 2.

Authorities think she is a victim of foul play.

Law officers, family and friends have searched for Renee near the couple's house and along the Cliff Drive area in Kansas City.

There is a $25,000 reward for information that leads authorities to Renee.

Shon Pernice has not been charged in connection with his wife's disappearance.
