KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The status of the Tour of Missouri bicycle race is upgraded with the World Governing Bodies for Cycling.
The 3rd Annual race will start on Labor Day in 2009 and will conclude 6 days later.
The upgrade puts Missouri's event on par with a handful of major professional races outside of Europe.
The only other race in the same category is one in Califorina in February.
