KANSAS CITY, Mo.-People waited for hours to see The Twilight Saga: New Moon at Midnight showings across the metro. Some waited until the early morning hours before their showings even started.

In fact, these fans are breaking records. Entertainment Weekly reports pre-sales for New Moon are the highest in history, topping Dark Night, Harry Potter, even the Star Wars franchise.

At one point, 20 of the AMC Barrywoods 24 theatres were filled with nothing but Twilighters. Almost all of them, clad in twilight shirts, had decided before they came if they were on 'Team Edward' or 'Team Jacob'.

"She can have Jacob, she can have him," said one mother about her teen-aged daughter. "She can have him, I'll take Edward."

Though so many fell in love with vampire Edward Cullen reading the first book or seeing the first movie, there is a healthy following for Bella's family friend, Jacob Black. And some say after seeing the movie, his following could be growing.

"I went into the movie as Team Edward and came out as Team Jacob," said one movie-goer.
