COLE CAMP, Mo. – A high school student found murdered is being remembered for her excellence in the classroom.
15-year old Taron Luetjen was murdered along with her grandparents inside their Elm Street Home in Cold Camp, Mo. around 5:15 p.m Tuesday.
Teachers say Luetjen was a straight “A” student who was involved in sports and the show choir.
“She had a gorgeous voice. I remember hearing her sig several times. I just loved listening to her,” said Katie Johnson, a drama teacher.
Johnson said Luetjen was adopted by her grandparents after her father died in a motorcycle accident when she was a baby.
“They were just really good people. They adored her,” says Johnson.
Taron did not have a close relationship with her mother Deborah Kost. Still the news hit Kost hard.
“This is the toughest thing a mother would have to do,” she says.
Police have identified the other two victims as Donnie R. Luetjen, 64, Sharon K. Luetjen, 61.
The rural Missouri Major Case squad is investigating the case. They have not released the cause of death or any suspect information.
A news conference has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at the park next to the home where the three were murdered.
