KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Environmentalists who are also fashion conscious will be excited about the second annual Kate McKay Fashion Show.

The junior at Pembroke Hill High School is trying to change the world with a needle and thread. Kate’s fashion show will feature 25 of her own original fashions with the proceeds to benefit Bridging The Gap (BTG).

Tickets are $28 dollars per person at the door at The Uptown Theatre June 26, or online for $25 from Bridging the Gap.

The Second Annual Kate McKay Fashion Show will help BTG continue over a dozen programs helping Kansas City "go green".  BTG leads recycling centers, picks up litter in the urban core, conducts original research on climate change and actively lobbies city, county and state governments to create wind power and home energy efficiency programs.

BTG officials say they have motivated 1,500 citizens to save over 9 million pounds of carbon emissions just this year through their "Five Green Things" program.

The event itself will also be environmentally friendly as 100% of all the materials used are recycled. Environmentally-friendly vendors will be on hand and a drawing will be held for environmentally-friendly products such as vegan hair care materials.  A silent auction will be held before and after the show.

Models for the show are teens from Pembroke Hill.  The reception begins at 6:00 PM and the fashion show at 7:00 PM.
