GRANDVIEW, Mo. - Area teens and their families worked on staying fit and active Sunday as part of the third annual Kansas City Ability Day Recreation and Education Fair.

Baseball, soccer, horseback riding, gymnastics and swimming were among the activities spotlighted Sunday. The city of Grandview's Parks and Recreation Department hosted the fair.

The event hopes to allow the teens to learn how to socialize as a group and showcase their abilities. Cheryl Heltzel told NBC Action News that the participants in Sunday's fair have so much to offer "if people are open minded enough to give them the opportunity."
