OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Dozens of boy scouts left Monday for an important trip.
Troop 201 from Overland Park left Monday morning to spend 10 days at Camp Bartle in Osceola, Mo.
The boys range in age from 10 to 16 and will get to experience the outdoors while completing merit badges.
It’s the largest trip this group has taken together.
“For a lot of these guys it’s their first time staying away from mom and dad for a 10 day trip and they grow up a lot,” scout master Darrin Kistler said.
Four troop members will become Eagle Scouts at camp which is the highest award the boy scouts offer.
