Grab your cowboy hat and head south to Harrisonville, for the
All-Star Rodeo.
Bareback, Saddle Bronc Riding, Calf Roping, Over 40 Calf Roping, Breakaway Roping, Steer Wrestling, Barrel Racing, Team Roping, and Bull Riding.as well as chariot races and mutton busting make this rodeo full of excitement.
This is an MRCA/URA double sanctioned rodeo, so the competition will be intense.
The event runs Friday and Saturday at the Harrisonville North Park Arena, 1500 Jefferson Parkway. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the first event starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8, children 5-12 $6 and those under 5 are free.

Also this weekend, the Raytown Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Raytown Summerfest & BBQ Cook-off. There will be fun for everyone including live entertainment, contests and of course great food.
The festivities kick-off on Friday with BBQ lunch specials beginning at noon. Carnival rides, games and arts and crafts are some of the things you can expect to see.
Funk band Four Fried Chickens & a Coke will be on stage Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Rhythm Method will wrap things up on Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Other activities include the “Sausage Sprint” Dachshund races and all breed dog costume contest, Chris Cakes pancake breakfast and the barbeque cookoff awards presentation.
The festival will be in the heart of Raytown at 63rd Street and Raytown Road. The grand prize winner of the BBQ contest will receive $1,500.
