A microburst is a very intense downdraft of rain-cooled wind that drops to the ground and then rushes out. In this case, it produced estimated 60 mph winds near the Johnson and Wyandotte County border.

In the 4900 block of Natoma, a tree came crashing down on the house and car of Mary Dickerson. Click here to see why her son-in-law credits her with saving his life.

Luckily, there were no injuries related to storm damage reported on Tuesday. The wind did knock out power to about 1,000 KCP&L customers in the Mission and Roeland Park area.
