KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Detectives are investigating a quadruple homicide.

Officers said two homeless people found a man and two women dead inside 5234 Muncie Drive.  Outside the front door, they found the body of a 3-year-old.

“Everybody’s hurt right now,“ said Shenia Guetto, whose niece is among the dead.  “We just found out our loved ones have been murdered, not passed on, murdered.”

Trying to find comfort, family and close friends of the victims gathered beside crime scene tape Monday night.  Together, they cried, mourned and asked why.

“She was only 3-year-old,” Guetto said.  “She’s innocent. She didn’t have nothing to do with anything.”

Relatives said the homeowner is among the victims.  He was known for his generosity taking in displaced people and those in need, including two victims: the 3-year-old and her mother.

“If they didn’t have anywhere to go, he would help them out and let them stay there,” Guetto said.  “This is from what I know. He was a good man.  If they needed a place to stay, he would let them stay here.”

Police said this kind of crime is unfamiliar to the victim’s block.

“To my knowledge, it hasn’t seen that much problems,” said Officer Mike Golden of the Kansas City, Kansas Police department.

So, this kind of violence is a shocking mystery to relatives like Guetto.

“I’m angry because I don’t think it was right to do anyone like that,” Guetto said.  “None of them deserved that, especially a 3-year-old.  She didn’t even know what was going on.”

Police have not yet released the victim’s identities.
