INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – Independence Animal Services is kicking off a donation drive called the Super Bowl of Giving.
They are seeking pet supplies and cash donations for the care of pets in shelter and foster homes.
According to the Independence pet shelter the number of pets in the shelter is at an all time high because of the sagging economy.
You can drop donations at the following locations: Independence Animal Services, 875 Vista Ave., has partnered with Pete and Mac*s Recreational Resort for Pets, 600 N.E. Pavestone Dr., Lee’s Summit, MO.
Here is a list of need supplies:
1. Canned kitten and puppy food
2. Kitten and puppy formula
3. Feeding bottles
4. Grooming supplies such as clippers, Kool Lube, brushes
5. Cat and dog toys
6. Bleach and laundry soap
7. Good blankets suitable for cat and dog bedding and washcloths
8. Pooper scoopers
9. Leashes to give away when animals are adopted and for use by
volunteers walking the animals
10. Monetary donations
