KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The family of a missing Northland woman talks for the first time since Friday's bombshell police report.
Renee Pernice, 35, was reported missing Jan. 2.
In the report, police say they found blood in Renee's garage and divorce papers in her office.
The family won't know if it's Renee's blood until the lab results come back.
The report also states that Renee's husband Shon gave conflicting stories about when she disappeared.
"We think the report stands on its own. We believe it shows how hard the police are working," said Rick Pretz, Renee's dad.
The family isn't giving up on their daughter but every day gets harder to stay positive.
"I've got a hole in my heart," said Linda Lockwood, Renee's mom.
"Every day is an emotional day and yesterday was one of the biggies," said Pretz.
Renee and Shon have two children together and are said to be staying with their dad. Shon also has a daughter from a previous marriage.
They haven't seen their grandparents since Renee went missing.
"As you can imagine, we've lost our loved one and we can't reach out to her and we'd dearly love to see those boys," said Pretz.
Police suspect foul play is involved but have not named any suspects.
