CLAY COUNTY, Mo. - Victims of theft can get back their stolen goods if they can prove they belong to them.
Those items include farm equipment, cars, chain saws and trailers full of washers and dryers.
Captain Shauna Craven of the Clay County Sheriff's Department says you will need more than just your word to get it back.
"They are going to need to have filed a police report. They will need a copy of that police report, proof of ownership as in a receipt; sales receipt or a serial number,” Craven explained.
Law enforcement found the stolen items totaling more than $300,000 on Nov. 4. They charged Michael Stroud with theft.
