OLATHE, Kan. – An Overland Park businessman has been charged with felony theft in connection with a loan fraud scheme.

James M. Watson, 30, is charged with one count of felony theft of at least $100,000 and one count of forgery. Court documents allege Watson created phony loan documents in the name of a fictitious person in order to take money from his victim.

Watson is also on probation for a 2007 identity theft case and a separate 2008 case involving passing a worthless check. Watson also has an unresolved court case in which he was charged with felony theft for taking money from someone by deceit.

Watson conducted business under several different business names to include Watson Financial, WFF Financial, St. Johns Holdings, St. John Capital Holdings, Twin Financial Solutions, and Financial Solutions.

Watson was arrested and is now in the Johnson County jail with bond currently set at $100,000.
