One Dead In I-70 Crash Near Bates City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- One person is dead after a crash on I-70 near Bates City, Mo.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says they discovered the wreck just after 7:30 a.m. Sunday along westbound I-70 at Little Horseshoe Creek.  

A van went off the road and struck a small tree.  As the van continued westbound off the roadway it went airborne, hitting the creek bed before coming to rest upside down in the creek.   

The woman driving the van, 47-year-old Linda Rinck of Grain Valley, Mo., was killed. 

No one else was in the van.
