Police say they tried to pull a driver over around 3 a.m. when he opened fire near E. 43rd and Bellefontaine a short time later.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City Police opened fire on a suspect early Sunday morning.

Police say they tried to pull a driver over around 3 a.m. when he opened fire near E. 43rd and Bellefontaine a short time later.

That is when police say they returned fire.

Officers say no one was injured.

The suspect then took off.

Police are not saying why they tried to pull the suspect over nor are they releasing a description of the person.
