OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- A judge refused to lower the bond Thursday for an Overland Park teenager charged in a deadly hit and run.
Nineteen-year-old Jill Conaghan is charged with involuntary manslaughter, DUI, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Thursday, Conaghan's attorney asked a judge to cut her $100,000 bond in half to allow her to enter into a drug treatment program. The judge denied the request. Conaghan will remain in jail.
In July of this year, Sandra Carocari was killed while gardening in front of her home on 99th Terrace and Farley Lane in Overland Park, Kansas.
Police say Conaghan's car left the road and knocked the 70-year-old across the yard.
