NORBORNE, Mo. - Storm clean up continues in Norborne, Mo., as the threat of more severe weather threatens the small town.
One hundred mile per hour winds on Wednesday night caused damage to many of the towns homes and businesses. On Thursday residents continued to clean up tree limbs and other debris.
A spokesman for Kansas City Power & Light said they had restored power to most of the town. However, there are still a few homes that had too much damage to turn on electricity.
The Red Cross is providing meals for residents and volunteers. The town does not have many restaurants. A lot of residents lost food because the power was out for at least 24 hours.
As residents pick up the remaining debris they have a new worry. There is a threat of severe weather Friday evening.
"I just hope it's not as severe as it was the other night. Hopefully it's just a little rain," says Coley Gibson. Her home sustained roof damage in Wednesday's storm.
Norborne Fire Chief Ryan Miller says emergency officials are on standby in case the town is hit hard by storms again.
