KANSAS CITY, Mo.- A metro mother accused of allowing her husband to impregnate her daughter was expected in court Thursday, but never showed.
Linda Rinehart's attorney requested a continuance on his client's behalf.
However, Linda's oldest daughter, Terri Rinehart, 20, did show up in court.
"My mother didn't show up, and she should have shown up," said Terri Rinehart.
Terri Rinehart is the oldest of the 4 Rinehart girls.
"I'm like the mother of my sisters. I'm the one who kept my sisters together," said Rinehart.
Rinehart vows to keep her siblings together, even as their father and mother face charges of abuse and neglect.
"I have nothing to say about him, except he needs to pay and justice needs to be served for him, and justice needs to served for my mother" said Rinehart.
Police arrested 47-year old Danial Rinehart in January on charges of rape, incest and murder.
Prosecutors allege Rinehart had an ongoing sexual relationship with his now 19-year old daughter, and fathered four of her children. Three of them died.
The case came to light after two of the babies were found inside coolers on the family's old property outside Harrisonville, Mo.
Robert Blessman lived next door to the Rineharts, and had hired Danial for odd jobs around his home.
Blessman said he knew nothing of the abuse. He recently saw a picture of the only surviving child.
"He's the cutest little thing you ever would see," said Blessman."
"I'm 80 years old ain't never heard anything like it, and hope I never hear anything else like it,” Blessman added.
"What kind of mother could stand there and let that happen to their children," said Rinehart.
Linda is charged with child endangerment.
Danial is charged with incest, rape, and second degree murder.
Both Linda and Danial are scheduled to be back in court March 5th.
