KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Transportation is taking transportation issues to the people with an interactive road show.
"Your Voice in Transportation" is a first of its kind program for the department designed to take transportation issues directly to Missouri communities.
The road show will stop in Higginsville, Mo. Thursday night to give community members a chance to voice their opinion about transportation related projects and to learn about new initiatives like the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
The tour also features an education component to inform community members about MoDOT works, how ideas become roads, and why some projects are selected while others are not.
"Your Voice in Transportation" will start Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Higginsville City Hall Council Chambers. For more information, go to www.modot.mo.gov/kansascity.
