WASHINGTON - A U.S. Marine from Missouri has been killed in Afghanistan supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
The Department of Defense has announced that Chief Warrant Officer 2 Ricky L. Richardson Jr., of Franklin, Mo., died June 11, while supporting combat operations in Farah province, Afghanistan.
Franklin is just north of Boonville, near Columbia.
Richardson was assigned to 9th Engineer Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa, Japan.
