KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Mayor Mark Funkhouser sat down with Jeff Vaughn in the NBC Action News studio on Friday to answer the hot topics of the month.
Mayor Funkhouser confirmed his previous statements, that issues raised have been resolved, after a recently-released audit report concerning of conduct by staff of his office.
The mayor talked about the city's reaction to accusations of racial profiling against African Americans at the Power and Light District. Funkhouser says the Cordish Company has denied the problems but also that the company agreed to recommendations made by the city to help address the issue.
Funkhouser was not dissuaded by the loss of the figure skating championship event to San Jose, Calif., saying he is still confident in AEG and their ability to bring great events to Kansas City.
