Police say a car traveling north in southbound lanes near the Truman Road exit hit the truck head-on around 1:45 a.m.

The truck exploded into flames. The fire, caught on Kansas City Scout camera, burned out of control for more than an hour.

The driver was able to make it out okay and walked away with only minor injuries.

One person in the vehicle was taken to the hospital and was listed in serious condition.

Southbound lanes were closed between Main Street and Truman Road until officers reopened traffic around 6 a.m.

There was no immediate word on whether any charges would be filed in the crash.
