KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Officials say a man drove a truck into Indian Creek Monday afternoon.

It happened around 3:50 p.m. in the 1000 block of West 103rd Street, near Wornall.

A witness told NBC Action News that the truck was going at a high rate of speed on 103rd before it plunged into the creek.

Crews pulled the driver out of the creek and rushed him to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries. EXCLUSIVE SKYTRACKER VIDEO of Water Rescue

Authorities said he would undergo several tests to make sure drugs, alcohol or medical wasn't the cause.

Authorities say the man is a 25-year-old from Grandview, Mo. No one else was in the truck at the time of the incident.

KCMO police spokesman Capt. Rich Lockhart said officers believe the man was heading east on 103rd Street from State Line when he went into Indian Creek.

Public Works spokesman Dennis Gagnon says the bridge was installed about eight years ago. He says it is a busy bridge but does not have a particularly high accident rate.

Police are continuing to investigate this incident.
