Blurton has been charged with three counts of murder in connection with the deaths of 15-year-old Taron Luetjen, and her grandparents, 64-year-old Donnie Leutjen and 61-year-old Sharon Leutjen.
Blurton is being held in the Allen County Jail on a $3 million dollar cash bond.
A 911 call and DNA evidence led police to the arrest. Authorities say robbery was the motive.
During the news conference, it was also said that there may be more suspects in this case.
The Luetjens were found dead in their Cole Camp home back on Tuesday, June 9. Cole Camp is a town of about 1,100. It’s about two hours east of Kansas City.
Cole Camp Police Chief Stormy Walker said they died of gunshot wounds.
Earlier this month, Walker wrote a letter to Cole Camp’s newspaper looking for help in finding a light colored Chevy S-10 Pickup seen near the home two days before the murders.
Walker also said three or four men were talking with Donnie in his front yard that afternoon.
Thirty different officers from various agencies have been working on the case.
Neighbors say the couple who lived at the house are well-respected grandparents. After their son was killed several years ago in a car crash, they took in their teenage granddaughter. Donnie was a collector of Civil War and Native American artifacts, according to investigators.
We will have complete coverage of this case right here on NBC Action News at 10 Saturday.
