LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. - One man faces an arson charge for allegedly setting fire to a Lee's Summit home.

Tuesday, Jackson County prosecutors charged Arthur G. Rodriguez Jr. with arson in connection with Monday's fire.

A neighbor reported fire and smoke coming from the roof of the house at 1113 S.E. Talonia Drive just before 12:30 p.m., according to the Lee's Summit Fire Department.

Fire crews found smoke coming from the roof and a bedroom window.

Flames ate away at the floor in the two-story house and sent firefighters outside.

The fire caused major damage to the interior of the home, according to the fire department.
