Man Burned in Fuel Tank Fire

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – A man was transported to an area hospital Saturday morning after suffering second and third-degree burns in a fire.

Authorities say the victim, a 26-year-old man, was repairing a vehicle fuel tank at an automotive shop in the 1400 block of Minnesota Ave. when the fire broke out just before 10 a.m. Saturday.

Upon arrival, firefighters treated the victim and transported him to the University of Kansas Medical Center with burns to more than 33 percent of his body.

Investigators believe the fire was unintentional
