KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A Platte County man has been charged with rape, sodomy and incest with his own daughter. The man is also accused of fathering a grandchild with the teen.
Prosecutor Eric Zahnd charged 37-year-old Joen Lukas on Friday for allegedly assaulting the girl between June 2005 and June 2006. He is booked in Kansas City's jail with bond set at $250,000 cash.
The disturbing details played out in Riverside and more recently in an apartment complex at 5300 NW 70th Place in the Northland.
According to the police report, a neighbor at the complex found the girl, crying and shivering in the entryway on Thursday night. The girl told the neighbor her father had been raping her for several years.
Once police arrived, the girl told officers Lukas had attempted to have sex with her Thursday morning, but she resisted and told him, "no." The girl then told police her father had been "doing things" since she was 12 years old.
The girl told officers she recently had a child, but a great uncle had been raising the child as his own.
Police arrested Lukas on Friday afternoon. In court documents, he admitted to detectives that he had sex with his daughter "over 100 times." He also admitted that DNA would prove he is the father of the child that was born.
In the police report, the girl was asked by officers if she tried to tell anyone else about what her father was doing. The girl allegedly told officers, "Yes, but they don't believe me."
The teen is believed to be in foster care.
NBC Action News knocked on the apartment door Friday night, but no other family members answered.
