JOHNSON COUNTY, Kan. - Low numbers were reported in both Johnson and Wyandotte counties in primary races.
Less than 10 percent of registered voters in Johnson county cast ballots in the primary races.
DeSoto, Fairway, Gardner, Merriam, Olathe, Overland Park, and Roeland Park narrowed the field of candidates for school board, sheriff, mayor and city council seats.
In the Merriam mayor's race, Ken Sissom recieved the most votes, Dan Leap and Carl Wilkes tied. All three will battle in the general election.
In Roeland Park Steve Petrehn was the top vote getter. Scott Gregory and Adrienne Foster will also compete in the general election.
In Wyandotte County less than nine percent of the registered voters cast ballots.
In the Sheriff's race Donald Ash received the most votes, followed by Leroy Green Jr., Joe Pierceall and Robert Whisman.
