KANSAS CITY, Mo. - There are new plans for Michael Jackson's public memorial in Los Angeles.
The public memorial service will be held the same place he last rehearsed two days before he died. That was at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angles, Calif.
The memorial will be Tuesday morning, July 7, at 10 a.m.
There will also be a simulcast inside the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE across the street.
A limited numbers of free tickets to both venues are made available for Michael Jackson’s fans to attend.
Fans who wanted to attend had to visit the
Staples Center Web site and register for the free tickets. Fans has until 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 4.
The Power and Light District brought out a crowd Friday night with a special tribute to Michael Jackson.
The tribute included his music and videos, a dance contest, comedy and moment of silence. It began at 6 p.m. Friday.
