KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Mike Savage is one of Kansas City's art icons. Thursday night, he opened the doors of his new
Plaza art gallery on Broadway for a first of its kind ladies night fundraiser: Sav and the City.
Ladies enjoyed the extended hours and the opportunity to browse the paintings of Savage and 20 other local artists. Savage offered 10% off in exchange for supporting the evening’s special guest, Rose Brooks Center.
Rose Brooks Center is the Midwest’s most comprehensive domestic violence shelter. They offer emergency shelter to women and children, in addition to court advocacy and transitional housing programs.
Patrons of Sav and the City donated gift cards or cash, which will be given to the women and children staying at Rose Brooks to buy Christmas gifts and other necessities.
