LEAVENWORTH, Kan. - Dog owners in Leavenworth, Kan. have until April 1 to get a new dog license to replace tags from the previous year.
All dogs owned by Leavenworth residents must have a dog license from the city. Tas from the previous year will expire on March 31.
The fees are $8 for spayed or neutered pets and $16 for unaltered dogs. The license requires proof of rabies vaccination and proof of altering for the discounted rate. Licenses must be obtained from the City Clerk, Leavenworth Animal Control, or through a Leavenworth veterinary clinic.
On April 1, dog tags will cost $16 per dog for altered dogs and $24 for unaltered dogs.
